Carpet tiles are by far the most popular floor covering choice in offices. Even though LVT (luxury vinyl tiles) are growing in popularity, particularly now that a few of our choice manufacturers are offering ‘loose lay’ rather than ‘stick-down’ versions, you will normally need a far bigger budget for these, or any type of vinyl flooring.
And, although we offer some absolutely amazing carpet designs which we’d love you to have in your office, the vast majority of companies that come to us are after something within the more price sensitive end of the spectrum. That could mean rather plain and rather bland in appearance – and of an inferior quality too – but it really doesn’t have to be that way! There are a few manufacturers that produce budget priced carpet tiles which not only perform as well as many of the higher priced ranges, but with a bit of thoughtful design they can be laid in a mixed colour scheme pattern that will produce a premium look too.
GoTo performs well on price, quality and green credentials. This entry level carpet tile, constructed of both recycled yarn and predominantly recycled backing is hard wearing, easy to maintain and perfect for office environments of all types. Price depends on a multitude of factors, but if you’re wondering, we would typically supply and fit this carpet tile for significantly less than £20 + VAT per square metre.
Constructed with EqoCycle® 75 recycled solution dyed nylon yarn and BioBase™ recycled backing, GoTo is a low carbon product manufactured here in the UK.
Light on environmental impact but not on design, GoTo offers both striped and plain options in a total of 20 tile choices which can be mixed and matched to create oodles of designs and colour schemes to give your office a unique identity on a budget price.
And if you want to increase the scope for a unique design and layout for your office, consider creating pattern and colour scheme with a combination of GoTo and another range such as the carbon negative yarn carpet tile, Arctic or other Burmatex tiles.
What’s the Importance of Solution Dyed Nylon?
We believe that Solution Dyed Nylon Yarn construction is an absolute must for commercial carpet tiles if both elegance and durability are a priority consideration. The alternative, the polypropylene yarn typical of entry priced carpet tiles that has the same or similar pile weight or density as a nylon yarn tile, will look very similar, if not identical, but after a few months of use it is likely to start losing its form and appearance, unlike the Nylon (Polyamide) yarn of GoTo which is more robust and will stay looking good and wearing well for considerably longer. This is why most heavy contract commercial tiles are of polyamide nylon construction and not polypropylene.

Who are we?
If you landed directly on this page through a search on Google or Bing for office flooring or carpet tiles, we need to explain who we are, and what we can do for you! Our business is called Octopus Interiors – for no better reason than that is the best name we could come up with during a brainstorming session 25 years ago when we originally set up as a telecoms company (that’s another story!) and it has nothing to do with having 8 separate arms to our business as many assume, because we don’t! We are fundamentally a principal contractor in the world of office fitout. We work mainly in London but also in the Home Counties and we work directly for small and medium sized companies who are leasing office space and need changes made. This includes a multitude of things – take a look at our home page for an insight – but office flooring is a major part of our work and as such, we offer carpet tile and LVT (luxury vinyl tile) fitting as a stand-alone service or as part of an overall refurbishment project. We’re a small company and although we take on big jobs, we also like helping other small companies. We’re happy to do flooring jobs of any size – even if it’s just a few square metres – so give us a call and let’s talk about your needs. We’re very friendly and there’s no pressure – at all – that’s a promise!
