Ege Carpet Tiles fitted in a listed period office in Dover Street Mayfair by Octopus Interiors

Who are we? What do we do?

Hello, we are Octopus Interiors. We Supply and Fit Carpet Tiles in offices of all sizes, big or small, throughout London and the Home Counties.

We do this in both empty and fully occupied, fully furnished offices. So whether you are looking for a new office space, about to move into one or want a mid-occupancy carpet change, we’d love to talk and discuss what we can do for you.

Setting us apart – Designs specially for you

A uniform colour throughout your office can look great,  but it could be far more exciting if a number of tile colours & patterns are combined into a well thought out design.

We will take the time to create carpet tile layout designs that will be unique to your office and transform it from ordinary looking to something quite special.

Whilst others don’t have the capability or simply can not justify the time and resources, we will measure up, produce accurate CAD plans and get creative with photo-realistic designs for you to choose from – even on small projects.

We don’t want you to have to make do with a plain ordinary single colour when for the sake of a bit of extra effort we can create something extra special.  It’s as satisfying for us seeing the end results and as it will be for you.

We also supply and fit commercial grade LVT (luxury vinyl tiles), sheet vinyl, wood flooring, broadloom carpets,  rugs and entrance matting.

We work directly for you, the office occupier, not only supplying and fitting carpet tiles but also providing you with product advice and design layout ideas so that you can make an informed decision as to what is going to perform the best for you, look best in your office and fit within your budget.

We provide an extensive range of carpet tiles from environmentally considerate manufacturers who produce fully recyclable products from significantly recycled materials. Most of what we offer is made right here in the UK, not only helping to further reduce the impact on the environment through minimising transportation distances, but also enabling us to obtain stock for your project very rapidly – very often the next day.

Why not take a look at some of the products we offer from world leading commercial floor coverings producer Shaw Contact or leading British carpet tile manufacturer Burmatex .   We also supply the complete ranges from other manufacturers including The Floor Hub and Interface Carpets.

Wondering what it will cost?

Our prices are exceptionally competitive and our service friendly and personal.  We don’t generally just supply carpet tiles – instead we provide an all-in design, supply, delivery and fitting service.  Prices vary considerably, but as a guide you should allow at least £18 + VAT per square metre of floor area you need tiling.  The price can be significantly more dependent various factors such as the specification and range of carpet tile,  whether we need to also remove and dispose of existing floor coverings, whether your office is empty or full of furniture and how large the area is to be carpeted.
Carpet Tile Fitting in Pall Mall Office London SW1From our extensive range of designs, colours and compositions we hope to have something to suit the budget and requirements of all businesses with offices in London, big and small.

Easy or Challenging Installations – we take on all!

Don’t worry if your office is full of desks, cupboards and everything else typical of an occupied and fully operational London office. We’ll come in at weekends to lift and shift furniture, remove the old carpet tiles and fit the new ones in time for business as usual on Monday morning. We’re used to it!

How we can help

When meeting us for the first time, most of our customers don’t know quite what they want, what’s best for them and how much it’s all going to cost. It matters to us that we offer the very best solution; the right look, the right quality and the right price. So, we’ll spend as much time as is necessary to help you make these decisions. We’ll measure your office, show you samples and visit the showroom with you so that you can see and feel the different designs and textures of carpet tile on offer. We will tell you how much it will cost to carpet your office in each type so that you can make an informed decision. For larger areas and prestigious installations, the creative team can design a layout of different patterns, tile combinations and colours to create a unique and impressive look for your office.

What best suits your office?

What type of carpet best suits your needs and budget depends on many factors. We will be very pleased to meet with you and discuss the options, but it is perhaps worth noting that appearances can be deceptive and two seemingly similar carpets may be very different in terms of quality, colour fastness, resistance to tread and chair castor wear and many other aspects besides. How well they stand up to these factors depends on what material the yarn is made of (typically polyamide or polypropylene), the quality of the yarn, the type and method of colour dying, thickness, height and density of the pile, and of course the quality of the manufacturing process. Budget carpets might look fine when they are newly laid, but will usually wear quickly in a typical office environment, so it is worth spending a little time exploring and understanding the options to ensure that you are spending your money wisely because the difference in price between a budget tile that retains its appearance and form for only a year or two and a good value heavy contract tile that might last 10 years may be as little as £2 or £3 a square metre.

Cost is not necessarily directly linked to durability, so choosing the right carpet tile for the application is important. A high cost luxury carpet might be well suited to the boardroom where impressions count and where there is relatively little use, but the same carpet in the main office where there is heavy foot traffic and use of chairs on castors might not last anything like as long as a relatively low cost heavy contract tile that is more suited for the purpose.
